Deborah Robin Mech, CEO and Founder of URU-Universal Resources Unlimited, has been providing a variety of Human Development and Professional Growth Seminars since URU-Universal Resources Unlimited was first established in 1998.
Deborah has also been a professional educator and educational consultant for over 30 years. In addition to her service at the San Diego County Office of Education, Student Well-Being/SAFE Schools divisions, Deborah served as the Woman's Issues Contact for the CTA, California Teacher's Association.
Deborah has presented her pilot program and Special Education Master's dissertation, "Spiritual Diversity in Education", at the CTA-California Teacher's Association Human Rights and Equity Conference (Irvine, CA), for the CES-Coalition of Essential Schools Fall Forum (Seattle, WA), and for local schools and districts.
Deborah also performed teaching and administrative duties for 12 years in the San Diego Juvenile Court and Community Schools, working with incarcerated youth and developing special programs for students in conjunction with the San Diego Probation Department and Community Based Organizations.
Deborah has been working as an Educational Specialist in San Diego's public school system for the past 13 years. Her areas of expertise include Differentiated Instruction programs for General Education students; Full-Inclusion programs and procedures for Students with Special Needs; creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans; and designing and facilitating workshops and trainings for her "Parents As Educators" program in the Independent Study/Home School environments.
Deborah is a CSLA (California School Leadership Academy) graduate and has earned a B.A. in English (University of Massachusetts-Amherst), the M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (San Diego State University), the California Preliminary Administrative Credential, (San Diego State University) and an M.S. in Special Education (National University, San Diego). Deborah holds teaching credentials in English (K-12), and in Special Education serving all student populations including Moderate/Mild, Moderate/Severe, students with Autism, and GATE (Gifted and Talented) students.
Deborah also taught at Springfield College, San Diego and served as an instructor and curriculum designer for The School of Healing Arts in San Diego.
